Evaluation Q4

Evaluation Q2 - How have I incorporated brand identity in my products?

In this evaluation I mention my typography being sans serif font style, what i was meant to say was Serif font style, as san serif consists of lower case letters which i feel does not let off the visual image I want to portray of my artist.

Secondly I talk about image motifs but i didn't explain the reason for using this idea. Its is essentially for an artist like Fresha to have a clear image motif, so the artist will be easily remembered by the target audience, this includes the close-ups of the artist apparent in the music video and the album cover. This allows the audience to see a pattern in my artist work, which will help them remember him.

During my time creating this product, i didn't have the knowledge to add addition font styles to iMovie as a result this has let me down in creating a consistent brand identity in regards to font face. As you can see in the music video the font face used is arial, different to what is used on both ancillary tasks. If i did carry this project out again i would add the font face i needed to iMovie using dafont.com, by downloading the font face and adding it to the font library in iMovie.

Q3. What have i learnt from my audience feedback?

Above is a word cloud, showing the feedback i received, i have learnt alot through receiving feedback, it helped me develop my products and see improvements through the audiences eyes. Firstly I received feedback when giving my pitch, my peers gave me feedback on my idea, and having received it I changed  the genre characteristic from narrative to performance based, this was a major change and has been rewarding with my final product clearly matching my genre as shown in this word cloud. The feedback i received was from peers before, but this feedback cloud consists of information from my target audience. I  gained both positive and negative comments.

Negative comments:

  • lip syncing out of time
  • video quality bad
  • no reference to intertextuality
  • could have more variation of shots
  • incorporate more genre characteristic
  • better props and locations
If i did this project again, i would insure i spent more time working on producing the products, and spend more time researching my genre to fully incorporate all the characteristic that resemble Rap. I would also spend more time editing the video to get the lip syncing perfect and in time. the camera i used was a still camera with an added feature to video, this is why the video quality was bad as a result my music video suffered, therefore i would change the camera i use in future projects as i am a rap artist after all.
